Contemporary Colonial

A simple hierarchy of stone paving welcomes visitors from the street on axis with the formal front door.  Trees with red foliage are used as focal points and framing elements throughout the site, relating to the warm brick building façade.  Contemporary monolithic granite steps and wall caps contrast the organic traditional mosaic pattern in the stone walls.  The terraced gardens and gathering spaces are organized around a new fire pit and outdoor kitchen with retaining walls that double as seating elements.
