Offshoots provided landscape design services for this transit-oriented affordable housing development in Chelsea, MA. Located adjacent to the Silver Line and a short walk to downtown Chelsea, this project features streetscape planting to provide much needed shade from the hot urban conditions as well as seasonal interest across the site. A public walkway and two small pocket plazas connect the neighborhood to the commuter rail and provide small gathering spaces. On the second floor, a large amenity roof deck with a flexible-use community space will be surrounded by lush planting.
