Critical ConservationDesign research encompasses a range of approaches through which traditional research methods of investigation and critical reflection are paired with speculation and projection to expand the realm of what is and what might be. The Master in Design Studies (MDes) program at Harvard Graduate School of Design (GSD) supports designers, researchers, and scholars conducting design research into the toughest challenges facing society and our built and living environments. The collection of projects represented in this exhibit cuts a cross-section through the MDes body of research, demonstrating the interdisciplinary nature of the degree through a variety of media that both test and expand the limits of design.

Join us for an opening of the exhibit on May 10 from 6-8pm after the MDes Colloquium, or stop in to visit the work anytime between May 10 and May 30.
